Complicating the issue is that as cities grow in size, average travel  
distances to work get longer and bicycle trips
become infeasible for many people. Thus, efforts have to be made to  
stop the segregation of residential and employment destinations to  
provide more nearby work possibilities. It should also be possible to  
carry bikes on trains and to increase bikeshare
facilities at major bus and train stations.
