Rich people in developing countries also have a lot of security concerns
(assaults, robberies), so I doubt whether they would shift to another motorized
option than the 'safety' of their private cars.  On a more fundamental note, I
think it is unfortunate that Segway's are mentioned as potentially beneficial as
well to bicyclists and pedestrians.  If indeed because of facilitating the
Segway's use pedestrians walkways and bicycle paths suddenly would get a long
time overdue attention, we still are far away from understanding the potential
of non-motorized transport. .....
