From: The International Forum on Globalization

The International Forum on Globalization (IFG) is organizing a Teach-In on
the World Trade Organization (WTO), to be held in Seattle, Washington, on
Saturday November 27, 1999. The event will take place at the 2,500-seat
Benaroya Seattle Symphony Hall a few days before the WTO Ministerial
meeting. Most of the Teach-In events will be free to the public.

The Seattle Teach-In will focus on the problems of economic globalization
and, specifically, on the activities of the WTO and other international
agreements and institutions. Panels of speakers will address the current
failed economic model, and focus on areas such as agriculture, the
environment, human rights, labor rights, consumer rights, food safety,
public health, and many more issues that are affected by the WTO.
