SHANGHAI, Nov. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Two in every five Chinese town and
city dwellers, or over 100 million people, are inhaling polluted air
every day, an official with the Chinese national legislature said here
Wednesday.
Mao Rubai, chairman of the Environment and Resources Protection
Committee of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC), said that more

excellent, level II or fairly good, level III or slightly polluted,
level IV or poor, and level V or hazardous.
