Dear Friends,

I just posted a fairly detailed summary of my 240-page report
"Transportation Cost Analysis" at our website:
http://www.islandnet.com/~litman. It describes various transportation
costs, developes a framework for comparing the costs of different modes
under various travel conditions, and discusses implications and
applications of this information. It is fully referenced with weblinks
providing additional information on various costs. It should be a useful
document for anybody working with transportation planning and policy issues. 

Over the next week I plan to send out a newsletter announcing this new
document. I'd greatly appreciate it if you can review the version that I
posted and send me any comments by the end of this week so I can make
corrections and improvements before doing more publicity.
