UN Human Rights Council – 33nd Session – Expert Panel
THE HUMAN RIGHT TO PEACE 

23 September 2016 – 4:00-5:30 pm
Geneva – Palais des Nations – Room XXVII

On 1st July 2016, the Human Rights Council adopted Resolution 32/28, by
which it recommended the General Assembly approve the annexed 
Declaration on
the Right to Peace. The Civil Society Organizations opposed the 
Declaration
because it is devoid of content as it does not recognize the human right 
to
peace nor its essential components. This Panel will review elements of 
the
human right to peace as spelled out in the Declaration proposed by CSO/
Civil
Society.

Former Under-Secretary-General and High Representative of the UN (via
