The big issue with transportation and Masdar city is that while
transportation within the city will be sustainable and cars will be banned.
The developers are planning on building massive parking garages outside the
walls of Masdar connected to the city via a light rail line. It is pretty
much a shopping mall concept applied to a whole city. I don't know how many
parking spots they are projecting to build and publicity is silent on this
matter, but i would say it would be at least 10,000 parking spots.
