Soon LPG (liquified petroleum gas) or propane fueled
buses will be introduced in Metro Manila with the plan
being to replace all diesel fueled buses. Probably
most of the taxicabs here already run on LPG. LPG is
supposed to be better than diesel or gasoline because:
1) it has less emissions, and 2) it is cheaper and
therefore potentially will generate higher incomes for
operators and drivers. LPG is still a fossil fuel and
is therefore not a real alternative. Materials I've
skimmed through seem to highlight the environmental
and economic benefits as well. Are there problems with
using LPG as transport fuel? If it is so much better
(or just better0 why isn't it more widely used? I
was wondering what people's thoughts are on this?
