You can't ban motorbike use as it is, indeed, the only source of mobility
for many poor people. Often, they live deep down labyrinthine sois, and
the journeys they make are simply not replicated by public transport.

I'm wondering if a "Car free" day really has anything more than a fringe
symbolic value in a place like Bangkok. It will be a massive annoyance to
many people given the lack of viable alternatives and will likely simply
alientate people from considering the real choices Bangkok must make,
which include proper traffic control and control of traffic itself,
possibly through road pricing --Jonathan
