TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation
Research Board 1878 examines the initial findings on using low-cost
infrared detectors to monitor movement of pedestrians; a methodology to
assess design features for pedestrian and bicyclist crossings at signalized
intersections; characteristics of emerging road and trail users and their
safety; and a stated survey assessment of the trade-offs between time,
