Hello Alan

Been away and just back

what is Baile Atha Cliath (IIRC), and why

Baile is the Irish for Town [usually anglicised to 'Bally']
Atha = ford [as in a river crossing and nothing to do with Henry]
Cliath = hurdle

So BAC is Hurdlefordburgh [to give it a slightly Scottish twist!]

As to why, I do not know at present but will advise within a week
