[sustran] Re: Commercialisation of road space underneath flyovers

We are opposing this because our information is that the
proposed commercial complex itself would attract about
30,000 pcus per day. Also, the total parking space provided
is for about 400 cars. Traffic studies indicate that only
about 38% of the vehicles would use the flyover. It would
also create problems for public transport users (BEST buses
etc.) since bus stops would have to be relocated.
We are basically looking for other case studies or examples.
I hope this clarifies the missing links.
