Dear sustran-discussers

In response to the email on Year 2000 problems, I would like to remind
everyone please never to send attachments to the sustran-discuss list.
This is because:

* Some types of attachment can carry malicious macro viruses. It is a wise
anti-virus precaution to delete such attachments from unknown sources as a
routine without opening them at all. (This is what I did with the Y2K
message.)

* Many people with older machines will face compatibility difficulties
decoding attachments and getting them to be read by their software.

* Attachments take up MUCH more disk space and band-width than plain text.

So please send ONLY text emails to the list. If you have a wordprocessor
file to share then post a text-only message to the list asking people to
contact you for a copy.

Best wishes,

Paul.
